Explaining Detoxification

Explaining DetoxificationDetoxification (detox for short) is the physiological or medicinal removal of toxic substances from a living organism, and additionally can refer to the period during which an organism returns to homeostasis after long-term use or exposure to toxic substances.
Homeostasis occurs when your biological or physiological system that regulates your internal environment maintains relatively constant conditions of properties such as cholesterol, blood flow, cell regeneration, energy, mood, and temperature. In simple terms, it is a process in which the body’s internal environment is kept stable, despite changes in external conditions.
The reverse is known as Homeostasis Imbalance.  Many diseases (diabetes, dehydration, hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia, gout and any disease caused by a toxin present in the bloodstream) are a result of homeostatic imbalance, and it is also responsible for the physical changes associated with aging.
Toxins and health hazards are substances that can disrupt homeostasis in your specific organs, and may cause major or minor long-term damage, or even cancer. These are globally accepted definitions of what toxicity is.
A highly recommended way to reduce toxicity in your body is to stay away from tobacco, alcohol, and uncontrolled substances.  Tobacco is proven to be a toxic “carcinogen” that will increase the risk of cancer by altering cellular metabolism.  Other widely recognized toxins include MSG (Monosodium Glutamate, a preservative) and various metals (i.e., lead and mercury), which can restrict your body’s ability to fight against illnesses and disease. Foods may also contain elements that affect our homeostasis. This includes fish (mercury), produce (insecticides and color enhancers), baked goods (processed and synthetic ingredients), and most processed, packaged goods. Anything packaged to maintain a long shelf life most likely contains what your body sees as TOXINS!
The Solution is one of the most widely accepted approaches to arrive at homeostasis.  It is through a process of healthy detoxification followed by maintenance that can only be achieved through a consistent diet, exercise, and continuous education. Research continues to reveal the direct impact food has on our overall health.  Essentially, like any other “machine”, we need to keep our bodies clean in order to run smoothly and efficiently.
When you achieve this, you can have more energy, better sleep, weight loss, less stress. You CAN help your body return to homeostasis. Currently, your body attaches free radicals from the air you breathe, drugs you’ve taken, and foods you’ve eaten. Maxim Life stocks the natural solutions that your body needs to regain the balance.
