Ear canal shape and size can vary greatly between people. Even left and ear and right ear can differ on the same person. So why do most listening ear buds only come in one standard size? Some people do not find standard ear buds to fit comfortably inside their ear canals while listening to music. Have you ever tried going for a jog while listening to music and the ear buds constantly pull out of your ears? Even the company Apple has caught on to this problem and has changed the shape of their buds, but of course one size does not fit all ears!
Well now there’s a solution! All it takes is an appointment with your local Doctor of Audiology. Dr. Dana Luzon, Au.D., CCC-A, FAAA says “I can take a mold of the inside of your ear canals and send them away to be made into custom fitting earpieces that any standard ear bud can be attached to. This creates a sealed molded earpiece especially fitted for each of your ears.” These custom molds are made from a soft silicone hypoallergenic material and are a worthwhile investment for those with small or narrow ear canals.
These custom fit adaptors are made perfectly unique to your ears, and allow you to listen to your music clearer without having to move and adjust your earphones! They also reduce unnecessary background noise making it ideal to use while traveling, jogging or exercising.
Whether an avid runner or someone who enjoys listening to music without constantly fiddling with the fit of their ear buds, these custom ear buds always stay in place. They come in a variety of colors, they are easy to clean and will last for years.
If you are interested in custom molded listening ear buds, please call Audiology and Hearing Aids of the Palm Beaches today to schedule an appointment at (561) 536-5557! We look forward to being your home for hearing healthcare.
